We Are Good Citizens!

“I helped my sister read a book.”

“I shared my costume with my friend."

“I went to the beach.  I let my brother go on the water slide first."

“I gave me Legos to my big brother."

“I shared my ice-cream with my friend, Kelly."

“I help clean messes that I didn’t make."

“When I was in a gym a boy did not have friends.  So I said, ‘Do you have friends?’"

Welcome!!

I am so excited about this blog! It's always amazing for me to see, firsthand, the work the children produce, and now I can share it with you immediately!  I plan on using this blog, primarily, as a tool to share photos of student work samples, bulletin boards, classroom displays and general tips and hints for a successful school year.  I'm just a beginner, so please bear with me as I learn about this truly wonderful communication tool!

Here goes! This is my first attempt at posting pictures. The children did a beautiful job of using their Pattern-Block Templates in math to create open-ended designs, patterns, or pictures.  Here are a few examples of creativity at its finest.  Wait 'til you see how much the designs differ from each other!  The children really "went with it", released  their inhibitions and produced quality work they were proud to share.  As we move along in our curriculum more work samples will be posted, so stay tuned!  Way to go, 1-A! :)

Notice the speech bubble on this one!  :)
