I am a wife to my dear hubby, Kurt, of almost 13 years and a mother to my three most beautiful children, Ethan (9), Bayleh (8) and Jack (6). We are incredibly busy ALL the time, as I know so many of you can appreciate! With lots of pets to take care of, homework to complete, chores, parties, activities, and recitals to get to, nothing else matters, as long as we're laughing all the way......... I graduated from Curry College in Boston, MA with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a minor in Education. I went on to receive my Master of Education from Brenau University in Atlanta, GA. Throughout my teaching career, I have taught pre-k, kindergarten and my all-time favorite... first grade! I am proud to say this is my seventh year teaching at Decker School, my fifth year in first grade, and I couldn't be happier!
Check below, frequently, for all the words currently on our classroom word wall. This list is comprised of words that the children must be able to read and spell correctly. We call them "Memory Words." Memory Words, (commonly referred to as Sight Words), do not follow traditional spelling patterns. Therefore, they cannot be sounded out and must be learned by memorizing their spelling. Children should not try to decode Memory Words.
